Driving Record or Driver's License Issues
If you believe that you are the victim of identity theft and there is fraudulent information on your driving record and/or license, following these steps.
Obtain a Copy Of Your Driving Record
You should get a certified copy of your driving record. Visit the South Carolina Department of Motor Vehicles website to obtain a copy or to learn more. The fee is $6 for a certified copy.
You may also visit your local SCDMV field office. Contact the SCDMV by email at fraud@scdmv.net by phone at 803-896-9688.
File a Police Report
File a police report with your local law enforcement or at the police department where the identity theft occurred.Fraud & Identity Theft
Follow one of the following steps to report identity theft.
Fraud Alert
Place a Fraud Alert by contacting the 3 consumer reporting companies:
- Equifax at 800-525-6285
- Experian at 800-397-3742
- TransUnion at 800-680-7289
File a Complaint
- You may File a Complaint with the Federal Trade Commission (FTC).
- Call 1-877-ID-THEFT
- Write to:

Other Options
You may close any bank accounts or credit card accounts that may have been compromised. You may also choose to file a police report.
