Field Trips

Please note: the Recycling and Education Center will be closed in May and June of 2016. We will reopen for field trips in July.

In an effort to educate the public about the benefits of recycling, The City of Greenville operates a Recycling and Education Center located at 514 Rutherford Rd.

About the Classes

Visitors learn the benefits of recycling, how to separate recyclables, the 3 R’s of recycling, composting and waste reduction. Field trips are approximately 1.5 hours long which include a presentation, video, composting demonstration and tour of the recycling roll off containers.

The City of Greenville’s North Greenville Recycling and Education Center is for public use or anyone wishing to learn more about recycling, composting and waste reduction, including:
  • College Students
  • Community groups
  • Local Governments
  • Students grades K-12

Educational Presentations are scheduled by appointment only, Monday - Thursday, 9 a.m. - 1 p.m. The presentations can hold up to 30 people at a time and the parking lot does accommodate school buses, vans and cars.
