December 11, 2008: The City of Greenville’s Falls Park and Liberty
Bridge have received yet another prestigious international award, this time from
The Waterfront Center, a non-profit organization formed in 1981 "to assist communities
and the professions in making the wisest and best long-term uses of waterfront resources

public opening, the Liberty Bridge at Falls Park in downtown Greenville is receiving
accolades at the International Bridge Conference in Pittsburgh, PA this week. Read More
Falls Park and Liberty Bridge Open to the Public
Sept 10, 2004: Enthusiastic crowds gathered today at Falls Park
in downtown Greenville, South Carolina to celebrate the opening of the newly renovated
park and the landmark pedestrian bridge. City officials and those instrumental in the
park and bridge design and construction addressed the crowds and ceremoniously opened
the park by cutting a floral ribbon at the bridge entrance. The $13.4 million development
project has been underway for the past two years.
